Sunny Side Up, for tots
Fabric.com and Hotpatterns have a great thing going with their free downloads. I knew ‘zactly what to do with their newest, the Sunny Side Up sunhat: printed at 80%, it makes the perfect hat for Gracie, reminiscent of the Holly Hobby wall hanging I loved growing up.
I used a lovely cotton (another great find by my MIL. I’d forgotten how inspiring it is to have swaths of fabulous fabric on hand), interlined with canvas. I ended up taking about an inch and a half off all the way around the brim.
And Grace’s take? She must like it, because she’s only taken it off once. Believe me, that’s a record.

Holy cow I LOVE this hat! So much cuteness I can hardly stand it. Love.
I’ll bet the Hot Patterns people never imagined this pattern would be made into a baby hat, but it makes a darling one. That fresh green in the solid and the butterfly print makes me want it for myself, and I’m a few decades past babyhood.
