Spending a few days with your favorite daughter and sewer provides inspiration galore. The 3 new posts include the Red, White and Taupe throw, Shop and Tote, a nice big bag for go “green” shopping in style and Pink Lemonade and Key Lime Pie – a throw that seems to be the most popular so far.
Enjoy the views, more pics of quilting and inside the bag details on my Etsy site.
So the time spent together also brought out the quilter in Sula as she spent time in her head designing a quilt in between all of the Gracie feedings and lots of playtime with Grandma (Mim) and Grandpa (Pop).
So that meant a trip to Mrs. Miller’s Dry Goods store in Charm, Ohio, a must visit if ever in Ohio Amish country. An hour there produced the fabric inspiration to get cutting. Wish so much in my heart that we could do this together, but Sula and Gracie will return home to MA this afternoon and the quilt making will be mine. This will be our FAMDSE, fifth annual mother-daughter sewing extravaganza – always great fun. The pattern for this quilt will surely be one to blog about – hope we can get the details all on paper in the proper order if anyone else wants to try it. It seems to be a good project for an experienced sewer and one not so experienced to try together (a mother-daughter perhaps!) Am sure there will still be plenty to do when they return in October for the celebration of Gracie’s first birthday.
Will have to sew some fun for that occasion – will let you know what the Grandma/seamstress creates for Gracie.
This is my (Dyan) first ever blog post. Not used to sharing my thoughts online, but Sula says it will get easier, Ok Sula!!!
